Quick Apply Full-time 1 day ago Full Job Description Housing Inspector The Housing Inspector is responsible for a variety of duties in the inspection of public housing and/or Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher units to determine compliance with federal, state and local regulations and housing authority policy.
Responsible for scheduling and conducting HQS inspections for potential and eligible assisted units while using hand-held computers to determine units for occupancy that meet Housing Authority & HUD HQS standards.
Prepare written correspondences to tenants and landlord/owners documenting deficient inspection items and issue appropriate solutions for compliance, maintain unit inspection physical and computerized files with accuracy and efficiency.
The Housing Inspector will report to the Section 8 Coordinator and Deputy Executive Director and will adhere to the organizational chart of the housing authority.
Examples of work performed by the Housing Inspector:
Inspects interior and exterior Public Housing and Section 8 units to ensure compliance with housing authority policy and HUD Regulations.
Inspects dwelling units for cleanliness and infestation Performs REAC Inspections (Real Estate Assessment Center) Inspects UFAS units (Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards) to ensure compliance Maintains records of inspections and follows up on violations Prepares reports of inspections and violations found Reads blueprints and plans Verifies contractor licenses and certifications.
Works closely with property managers and maintenance superintendent Job Requirements Valid PA Driver's License HQS Certification or willingness to obtain Proficiency with MS-WORD Basic Computer Skills Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$40,000.
